Pregnant and laid off out of nowhere.
So I am stressing the fuck out. I have never been let go or laid off from a job before. My boss was crying when he called to let me know. His business is going under, and can barely afford to pay his bills. He said he'd walk me through filing for unemployment if I needed help. And if for any reason they denied me, he'd fight it from his end too.
I know he didn't want to let me go. But it really fucking blows. I'm almost 19 weeks pregnant and definitely showing. I know it's illegal to discriminate, but honestly, who wants to hire someone they know is going to be gone for doctors appointments and for maternity leave?
So I'm going to take tomorrow to get my ducks in a row and start searching. I knew my pregnancy was just going way too smoothly. Something was bound to happen. 😒
