What to wear to a funeral?

I haven't been to a funeral since 2013 and now I have two to go this week. One today and another on Wednesday. I have no idea what to wear and besides black leggings, I have nothing else that's black to wear. What is acceptable to wear? Do I have to wear black? If I do have to wear black would the leggings and a nice top be okay? Or should I try to find something else in my closest?

I think all dark colors are appropriate, darkblue, grey etc. I am going to a funeral tomorrow and i will be wearing  a dark grey dress, black stockings and black little jacket.

I wore a black dress to my grandpa's funeral. I think dark dress pants and a dark  dress shirt would be fine. Be sure to keep the weather in mind too

Most people aren't that strict about the dress code. You need to be dressed up but other than that I would say the only two rules would be to cover your goods and not wear bright colors.

You definitely do not have to wear black. Keep it to darker colors of you don't have black and keep it classy- obviously nothing bright or flashy. It also depends on what the person you are memorialize get liked. Some prefer certain colors or styles. As long as you are dressed respectfully and don't bring a lot of attention to yourself with your outfit you should be ok. No one is going to be talking about you if you wore a color anyway since it's a sad time, not a fashion show. So sorry for your losses.
