Do kids need siblings ? What is your opinion.

Question

I don't know if I should have another child. I worry I am not making the right decision. Sometimes I am so happy to have only one child and other times I want more . What is your opinion and experience X thanks

I don't think having a sibling is a need. But I definitely think kids are better off having siblings. I don't know what I would do without my brothers and sister. We are super close to each other.

I've always said I'd never let me kid be an only child. I came from a huge family. I have 10 siblings. My dad has 5 siblings. My mom has 13 siblings. And my grandmother has 12 siblings. I would feel bad about only having 1 kid because they would never get to experience growing up with brothers and sisters and having a full house of love and fun and everything in between. I personally just feel like every kid should experience a sibling bond.

It's completely up to you. I was one of three and absolutely adored having siblings. My best friend is an only child and doesn't ever remember wanting siblings. 
There are plenty of activities you can get them enrolled in for social interaction with other kiddos. 
If you want another kid, have one! If not, don't. You're kid will be loved, happy, and healthy regardless.

I was an only child and I loved it. Cause I got all my parents attention lol I did wish I had siblings sometimes but my parents were able to do more with me because there was only 1 of me.

It totally depends on the kid. I grew up with 6 siblings and they were my best friends, I love having siblings. But I have friends that hate having siblings. And I have friends that don't have siblings and some wish they did but some are glad they don't. It's up to you if you want another

As an only child, yes, children need siblings. As a child I had no one to play with, and though bright I had trouble grasping concepts of sharing and being around others who were different from myself. As an adult I fear that when I bury my parents, I will have to do it myself--and although I have cousins and aunts/uncles, plus my husband's side of the family, there's no one else that was raised with me that is familiar with my parents the way I am, like a sibling would be.  I'm glad my 11 month old is going to have a sibling soon.

My daughter is an only child right now. She cries every time she asks me for a brother and a sister. It breaks my heart to see her so lonely.

Yes, I cannot imagine life without my siblings. Siblings are your first and oldest friends. They are there for every wonderful and terrible moment of your life. We lost my mother last year and I cannot imagine the horror of going through that alone.

I've kinda had both I guess. I'm 16 years younger than the youngest of my four siblings. I hate it. Think I would rather have grown up together tbh. Life long friends that way.
