Baby detergents? Recommendations?

Where I live we have a small section of detergents and I have no idea of what to use. Has anyone used Borax? Isn't borax a fragrance free detergent?

Also did you have to switch your household laundry detergent to prevent washer residue going on the baby clothes and causing a breakout? TIA 🤓

I've always used Dreft detergent and have had no issues. For everyone else I was Tide and have never had an issue with residue or allergic reactions with my daughter 😊

We use soap nuts. You can buy them online from a company called "earth's berries". They are all natural, we have used them for our whole family on & off. I use them for my cloth diapers as well. They are completely natural and biodegradable and super economical.

Borax isn't a detergent and your clothes won't be clean if that's all you use. I use Target's or All's free&clear, whichever is on sale.

My son's dermatologist recommended all free and clear to us. It's amazing! Also she only recommends aquaphor 2 in 1 baby shampoo and body wash because Johnson products and baby magic products are very harsh on anyone skin, especially babies.

I believe borax is not a detergent but an aid to cleaning clothes, which I wouldn't use on baby clothes. I would use either anything that is free and clear of dreft stage 1. 😊

Any regular free and clear detergent will do the trick (that's all a baby detergent is), we use Purex Free and Clear for our household including baby.

And you shouldn't have any washer residue if you routinely clean your machine.
