Has anyone tried the theory on how to conceive a girl by having sex 2-4 days before ovulation?

A few of my friends who all have girls, and who have used this method for conceiving a girl said there is scientific research behind having a girl (or boy) by many factors of how sperm swim and survive.  Has anyone had luck with this method for either gender?

No, we didn't plan our first who's a boy and I don't really care which gender this time either.

I've always wanted to read up on this and try it. My sister in law does it and has 4 children, every other one a girl and every other one a boy. So far she's been 100% successful with it.

I heard that girl eggs last longer alive in side so if you're trying to conceive for a girl do it a couple of days before you actually are going to ovulate
