Brest feeding and working???

Question

So I'm pregnant with my second child and I was thinking about breastfeeding and going back to work once the baby can go to daycare. So I was wanting to know will it be to much to work and having to run and go pump I work at a faster food restaurant so I just can't run to the bathroom to pump... Would it just be easy to just go with formula??

For companies with 50 employees or more, they must provide you with a private area to pump that's not a bathroom and allow you ample breaks to do so. Talk to your HR person! Here's the link to the federal law. Good luck no matter what you choose!

I nursed my first for six months (working mom), and my second for 21 months (working mom), pumping at work isn't effortless, but it's totally worth it! I had to pump in the bathrooms of both my jobs because they were small companies and literally had no other space. I had a slight scare at around nine months with my second where my supply was dropping, but I started taking supplements, increased my fluid intake, and made lactation cookies over and over so I had a daily supply of them and it worked. My breastfeeding experience is by far the most rewarding thing I have done since becoming a mom, so I always encourage ftm who have an interest to give it a try. This time around I am a sham so it will be a new experience for me, but I will still be pumping because I've volunteered my milk to my cousin for supplementing, as she is 7 weeks behind me in pregnancy and has hyperplasia, a medical condition where she literally cannot produce enough milk for her baby.

Might also consider pumping while you're still on leave and freezing it.

Also, I'm pretty sure your employers must provide a place (not a bathroom!) and time to pump.

By law they have to provide you a locked space that ISNT a bathroom .  Does your job offer a space like that?

They have to provide a private place and the time to pump! You'll probably have to clock out to do so but you most definitely can breastfeed and work!!

Depending on the length of your shift, you might be able to manage to only pump once (lunch break?) if you feed/pump immediately before and after your shift.

In the beginning, you'll need to pump every three hours. After a couple of months, you might be able to stretch that to 4+ hours.

They also make car charger adapters for pumps. It isn't ideal (especially during the summer), but that's also an option.

I say take the time to pump mama.. it's best for baby.  It's manageable.  But try it out and see if it works out for you.

Wondering same thing. I work at Home Depot. So no space for pumping other than bathroom or car. Haha
I'm thinking I may have to just breastfeed the first few weeks and then go to formula, or can I switch between the two? I've got to read up on this!
