Due date?? Confused.

Question

Soo. If I go by the due date the doctors gave me than that would mean I started my last period July 2nd. But I didn't. I started June 28th. So what due date do I go by.. My actual first day or what their saying (guessing)??

The doctor gave me a due date of August 17 based on my first day of my last period. But when the sonographer measured my baby in the first sonogram they came up with a due date of August 13.
I use two different apps, each with different due dates lol. And when people ask what day I'm due I just say mid-August

ER docs are not trained in pregnancy, they can only give general estimates.

LMP (first day of your last menstrual period) isn't super accurate, the dating ultrasound is as it measures where the baby is rather than where your period puts you. They'll use baby's measurements from here on out.

Do you have a cycle which is longer than 28 days? If so this may explain the difference in dates. I have a 32 day cycle and they explain that because of that they add four days on to your due date.

They go by the sonogram... it measures your baby.. my doctor didnt go by my period because my baby was more developed than i thought..! When i went to the health department we came up with Aug. 29 as my due date but when i finally went to the doctor after the sonogram they came up with Aug. 19 i trust my doctor everyone always branging on him..! Sometimes going by your period isnt as accurate as the sonogram..! I was 11w && 3 days when i thought i was 10w

Not sure why a doctor would give you a due date that wasn't calculated by your last period. That's how my due date has always been calculated with all 3 pregnancies.
