Bf waiting for marriage

My boyfriend has told me that he would like to wait to have sex until he's married but has tried to initiate sex already. I stopped him because I knew he wanted to try to wait. Should I continue to try to stop him because she said he has glad I stopped him the other time. Or should I let him make the choice completely for himself?
