Yeast infection

So I recently just went through my fertile period and on the last day I ended up getting a yeast infection. The have me a type of cream you have to insert with an applicator, well I did and started bleeding right away..... Can someone tell me why or if they have experienced this?..  Also my last period was on the 15th
