Suddenly cigarettes taste weird

bailey🖤 • I pray that we all get what we want. 🖤

Yes, yes I know. Smoking = bad. I've been trying to quit for a while now. But here lately they have been tasting off, and really turning me off by not wanting to smoke them. It takes me about 3-4 days to smoke one pack versus 1-2 days.

This has been going on for about 2-3 weeks.

I've heard that taste buds can change and cause them to taste off/nasty in early pregnancy, but as far as I'm aware I'm not pregnant, just got off my period yesterday.

Also, I've heard that the new "FSC" cigarettes (fire safety something) are causing them to taste differently as well.

I've had a rough start for 2016 already and I'm about 85% sure I'll be done smoking by December.

I am trying to quit but it seems that the anxiety from ttc makes me want to smoke more.

I smoke Newport menthols I woke up 3 days ago from a really bad nightmare there was a bad smell that was associated with death in this nightmare when I woke up I grabbed a smoke lit it and it tasted the essence of that bad dream death smell and everyday since I have my tubes tied plus endometrial ablasion so I know I'm not pregnant and I have 4 children so... But I attributed it to divine intervention because I have been praying my own strength in quitting no other way to describe and they still taste weird idk

It is possible to have a false period while pregnant. I'd take a test.

I swapped to roll-your-own after the fire safety ones were introduced here, they tasted better to me. There was a noticeable chemical taste in the new pre-made ones. Haven't been a smoker for almost a year and a half now though and it feels amazing. When you're ready to stop I suggest reading "easyway" by Allan Carr. This one book helped my sister, husband and I all quit so you may find it helpful :)

It's been close to a year since I quit smoking. One day I decided that I just had enough. One thing that helped was an app called cessation nation. It tracks the number of days since you quit, so it's easier to take a day at a time, and the amount of money you've saved each day by not smoking. Put things in perspective for me.

When I was smoking I always knew when I was getting sick because the smokes would taste weird.  Probably not the case for you if it's been going on for a while.

that's what I thought was going on, because normally days before i actually get sick they start tasting bad, but the taste just hasn't stopped! I feel like a crazy person because my boyfriend doesn't taste a difference and we smoke the same kind!
