Iui question?

     Just did iui, did not work, its our first rime, however  ,  our doctor did not check my actual ovulation time with opk or blood draw, just follicle check and trigger shot, is that normal? I'm still thinking up to now that the timing is off with my ovulation and iui, that is the reason why it failed.
