Does your SO have disabilities?

My husband was 100% healthy when we met and were married, but recently his health has declined and he has been in and out of hospital, lost The use of his legs and the doctors are saying he may have motor neurone disease but will not diagnose until his health has further declined.
Im still deeply in love with this man but I'm finding it very hard to be more of a carer to him and help him in and out of a wheelchair etc.
So my question is are there any other men or woman out there who have a SO with disabilities? How do you deal with it?

I was healthy when my SO and I met. We moved in together and everything kinda changed. I developed a herniated disc, which cut off use of my left leg. I was almost completely wheelchair bound just after our first anniversary. I ended up having emergency surgery to remove the hernia, but they ended up having to take more disc than they traditionally would. He's been there through every single procedure, and every single complication I had. I had to relearn how to walk, how to bend, twist, lean over, etc. I had an infection and required wound care, he was still there. Footing the bill for all the appointments and surgery costs. I'm better now, minus some trouble walking, and I can honestly say I'm greatful for him. He always tried to make sure I didn't feel like a burden to him, because he loved me for me. We couldn't have seen that coming, much like I'm sure you couldn't see his condition coming. As much as you get tired and frustrated with the situation, imagine how he feels. I felt completely worthless, and he might feel the same. Try to take some time for yourself and reevaluate everything. Is this something you can 150% commit to? Because from what I understand, he's not going to get better. Just be honest with yourself and do the best you can by him..Its definitely not an easy place to be the one with a chronic debilitating condition. I'll keep you in my thoughts. 💕

My SO is physically still able to do everything he used to, he just has a lot more issues related to his disease now. He's 33 and was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease 4 years ago. He's in stage 3 renal failure and things are definitely getting more difficult. His doctor said he will most likely need a transplant by age 40.  Right now it's ok... but in a few years I think we are going to hit that point where he will need dialysis and be unable to do the physically demanding job he has...it's scary knowing I'll be the one responsible for supporting our family and taking care of the kids.

Not a physical disability but my husband has bad dyslexia, he's very smart with somethings but terrible with other things. It can be frustrating sometimes having to constantly explain the same things over and over again but if anyone ever puts him down about it I will always defend him and end the person who put him down about it ☺️✌🏻️

My dad has this thing where his legs randomly give out and he basically collapses backwards. He is too stubborn/stupid to go to the doctor. He hates all doctors and refuses to go. My mom is so annoyed with the fact that he doesn't want to try and get better. But none of the doctors know what's wrong with him. He also refuses to take any medications, which has rubbed off on my brother. Both are depressed and need to be on meds, but they refuse. I feel bad for my mom having to put up with them. I'm glad I moved 6 hours away for college so I don't have to put up with him.
