Forced miscarriage!

It was confirmed at 8w that I have an empty sac & slow rising hcg levels. I have no signs of m/c so my doct prescribed me medication to force the miscarriage. I've seen similar stories where the baby shows up in later u/s & everything is ok. Am I holding onto false hope or is it time to let go? 😥
