Music while having a c section???

Question

Has anyone played music while having a c section done .. I have really bad anxiety and music comfort me but I'm sure the or staff will like my type of music (old school rap,newer rap,country,and classic rock and roll ) so I was wondering if anyone has down this before lol

My amazing anesthesiologist asked if I wanted to listen to music in the OR. It never really occurred to me. I'm so glad he did because it definitely helped me to relax. He even asked what kind of music I wanted to hear. Tbh, I couldn't tell you what exactly was playing since I was so loopy on meds but I know it did help! Never hurts to ask.

There was music playing during mine, but I didn't pick the station. I just remember the doc asking to turn it up at one point.  The only song I remember playing from the whole thing was the one with john legend/megan trainor.

I made a playlist and brought a speaker and iPad to my labor room...played it all night it was great. I went with more calming music than I'd normally listen to.

My surgeons were playing Pandora when we walked into the surgery room. I'll never forget that she was born to "Lean on Me". Definitely helped me calm my nerves because this was my first surgery ever, and it was major surgery and my mother was on the other side of the country . Like I still have all my wisdom teeth and my tonsils, that's how unfamiliar with surgery I was.

The surgical staff had their own music playing. I really wasn't listening to it. I pretty much just had a conversation with my husband and the anesthesiologist. They were pretty great. I didn't think much about the procedure while it was happening. It went by so fast. I asked if they were about to start and then next thing they told my husband to stand up and take pics cuz they were pulling her out. As far as stiching me back together that was a breeze too cuz I was distracted by the adorable new baby in the room.

The only thing I noticed was a pressure on my chest. I said it felt like someone was sitting on my chest. They said that was the surgical assistant cuz she was pushing the baby from the top while doc was pulling her.
