Breastfeeding and pumping question!

My son is a little over a week old and has troubles latching therefore I'm pumping and feeding him with a bottle. I was told to at the hospital to feed every 2 hours. Is that necessary with pumping. Like right now I fed him and hour an a half ago and he just went to sleep about 15- 20 minutes ago. Can I let him sleep so I can sleep? I have milk in the fridge I'm currently a staging 4-5 ounces all together with both breasts.
