Are condoms alone enough?

I've been having sex with my boyfriend, and my mom doesn't know about it. We've been using condoms, but I'm terrified that I still may get pregnant. My mom would absolutely kill me, and getting pregnant at my age isn't an option. Is there anyway that a 16 year old can get the shot without parental consent, or is just using condoms enough?

When used typically, condoms are roughly 85% effective. That means 15 out of every 100 women will become pregnant if using only condoms as contraception. You actually don't need parental consent to get birth control, but the doctors office will bill your insurance company and your parents will find out. However, there is a planned parenthood in most cities and you can get birth control, such as pills or the depo shot, without insurance or parental consent. Bc pills are 99% effective with typical use in preventing pregnant, however I would still recommend using condoms AND birth control in order to prevent STDs.
