What I wasn't told about breastfeeding:

A) it hurts like a BITCH when your milk comes in. My boobs got hard as a rock, heavy, throbbing, ugh! 
B) your boobs will get on your baby's schedule. 
C) when your baby sleeps through its normal feeding, that pain comes back from when you first got your milk. I just had to hand express to let some pressure off and not only did milk literally squirt out like a water gun, I soaked through two paper towels in less than a minute.

It's a wonderful experience. It really is. I'm so glad I chose to do it. The benefits are extraordinary and the bond it gives me and my baby is amazing. But holy moly.

Yes yes and yes. We're cutting down trees at our house and LO's grandmother came over to watch him so I could help. I told her just to come get me when he was getting hungry. This was my first time being "away" from him. So little did I know she wouldn't have to come get me. At exactly three hours my boobs would start to tingle like a little feeding alarm. It's so amazing what we can do. Grow and sustain a baby!

I had my first child at 18 and was under the impression that the baby would just automatically know how to latch on and nurse. I didn't realize I had to teach her to latch correctly and the staff at the hospital was no help. So that made it even more painful for me!! But I ended up nursing her for 17 months!

I remember going to school and pumping in between classes and I could tell when it was almost time cuz my chest started feeling heavy around the same time. Didn't bother making a feeding schedule cuz I just based it off my chest lol. Might make one this time since I'm going bottle feed more and pump during those times
