Bleeding at 13wk4d?

So I just got home from a very stressful four-hour trip to the ER. Woke up at 5 this morning to a lot of blood - almost like I was on my period - and went straight to the hospital. It stopped within 3 hours and baby was doing somersaults on ultrasound, but they have no idea why I was bleeding at all. Any advice or ideas? I'm scared something like this will happen again or that maybe something is wrong and got missed.

I JUST went through this. Did they do a transvaginal ultrasound? I had an ultrasound on Friday at my midwife's office, a regular one and she found a large fibroid and then she did a transvaginal ultrasound and was able to see that my placenta was over my cervix kind of. But she wouldn't have been able to see that except by a transvaginal. When my placenta grows it will move out from this position. She told me that there's nothing I can do to make it better or worse and I will bleed on and off until the placenta moves. The other possibility was that the placenta wasn't all the way attached and was creating a blood clot that would grow and then detach, which can happen multiple times. This wasn't the case for me though. Maybe get another ultrasound where they take their time to see what is going on. The ultrasound I had was about 25 min. She was extremely thorough. Good luck! This happened to me this morning! I'm 12w5d. Woke up at 5 am to a gush of blood/fluid (amniotic fluid?), followed by bright red spotting. I decided that rather than driving myself crazy Googling symptoms in the middle of the night I would head straight for the emergency room. They saw me right away; I woke up at 5 am and by 5.45 I was being prepped for my u/s. As soon as the baby came on screen you could see she was moving her limbs, and her heartbeat was strong and healthy. What a relief! The gyno couldn't really see how or why I was bleeding, but as all vital signs were good, it all seems to be ok. I've been put on bed rest for a few days.

At my very first u/s at 6w, the Dr told me I had a uterine cyst. My new Dr didn't comment on this on my subsequent ultrasounds at 9 and 12w; but I wonder if the cyst was made smaller by the growing foetus until it finally popped? I barely have spotting now, 12 hours later, just a bit of smudgy brown stuff. Even by the time I had my u/s the blood had changed from bright red to brown, ie there was no new bleeding.
It was all very scary, even if everything ended up ok!

Hi there, I am 14 weeks today but a few days ago, I started bleeding bright red...it wasn't an alarming amount but it was like a light period. I went in to see my OB immediately and he did and scan and baby's heartbeat was great and moving a lot. He didn't know the cause at all. It's so strange that this happened and all I'm doing now is stressing out. He told me to take it easy, no sex and to just relax. I thought I'd share with you just to let you know you're not alone!! Just take it super easy and try not to stress. Stay away from Google as it will drive you nuts. As long as you're not having any pain or cramping, all should be okay!! Take care, girl!!!
