So almost 2 years ago my boyfriend broke up with me after being together for 5 months, he was and still is one of my best friends, the problem is ever time I get asked what I'm looking for I'm a man I think about him :(

Sorry to hear that he broke up with you, I also find it weird to remain as best friends...but that's just my opinion. The reason is, you probably still have feelings for this guy and the day he decides to date someone else, as his best friend he's going to tell you and that's just going to tear you apart into pieces. You asked how to get over him, you simply cut any form of communication, stop calling him, texting, delete him from social media, delete messages, pics, etc. you don't even have to explain to him that you no longer want to have anything to do with him, after all he is the one that broke up with you. Mark my words, when you stop total communication with him, he will go nuts! For some reason men like it when girls ignore them, they start to wonder  why all of a sudden you stopped calling or answering their phone calls or text messages. Then they start missing you and wondering if you found some one new. If he's meant for you, he will come back, but that doesn't mean your going to let it be easy for him to come back. You have to make him work hard to get you back, that way next time it won't be that easy to let you go. But if he doesn't come back, then that simply means he wasn't for you. Also you will forget about him each day that passes by and your heart will start to heal each day that passes by without him. Next thing you know, you'll be your old self and start dating again and remember your ex, simply as an ex. Hope this helps you out in some way.

Girl idk how you managed to stay friends with him. Maybe give yourself some distance. It's possible you weren't able to fully heal and get over him because of the friendship
