Tubal ligation??

This is my second pregnany. My daughter is 6 and baby comes July via C Section. I'm 28 and considering tying my tubes. My husband agrees. My MD is ready to schedule as soon as we are. I'm nervous to sign the papers but know 2 kids is more than enough now a days. What's best?!?

If your not sure just get an IUD - there's so much long term birth control out there that you don't have to do something permanent if you're not feeling sure

I have a 6yo and am due in October. If I need another C, my plan is to have a tubal during the surgery.

If I'm able to have a VBAC, hubby and I may have to flip a coin later about who gets "fixed". ;-)

I'm leaning towards tubal. I've done the research and it seems like a simple thing, but it still scares me a bit.

I'm having it done in a few weeks, there can be lots of complications talk with your dr and see what kind he/she does! My dr will be cutting and burning the tubes closed, there are much few issues with this type of closure. Many people that experience pp pain are those that have the procedure done with clips, bands or ties. My husband will also be getting snipped in the fall just to make sure, sometimes the tubes can grow back together after 3 or 7 years. The other thing is that it can be undone if you do change your mind but it's a $5-7,000 procedure and most insurances don't cover it. We lost a daughter, had a boy and are expecting twin boys anytime now! I'm 29 and my hubby is 31 we both agreed that we are done and excited to raise our boys!

I had a IUD for 4 years and it caused so many problems. That's why this time around we are opting for sterilization

I personally would never get one but if you feel it's what's best for you then go for it!

I was considering this as I'm scheduled for a c section and this is my 2nd child as well. After a lot of research and a talk with my mom (who had the surgery years ago) I decided to get an IUD instead.

My reasons being:
1. After tubal ligation my mother STILL got pregnant (with me).
2. I've read countless reports of women having awful hormonal side effects, psychological side effects, and odd pains after the surgery sometimes over 5 years post. (My own mom suffered severe anxiety and mood swings adding to the statements other women came out with).
3. Life is crazy. We're gifted with the ability to have beautiful babies right now... and later down the road you never know if you'll have a change of heart and that kind of regret can lead down the dangerous path of depression.

But to each their own. If you're positive this is what you want, move forward... just make sure it's with confidence in your choice.
