Hoping for baby#2 🙏🏻

So I went to the doctors yesterday for cold symptoms, but they also did a pregnancy test first. Unfortunately it came back negative :( but it was also day one of when my period should have started (which hasn't yet). Is it possible that it was too soon? With my first pregnancy my last period was the first week of March and I got a positive test May 2nd, which said I was only 1-2 weeks...which the doctor confirmed was pretty spot on when I went in at 6 weeks. Just looking for some hope, we've been trying for baby #2 for about a year 🙈
