So for the first time I'm going to be using opk I'm on cycle day 6 when should I start testing I know doctors say CD 14 but should I start earlier since I've never tracked and really have no idea when I ovulate ?

I'd saw every other or every day (afternoon or evening) for the first cycle to get you a general idea then next cycle start testing 3-5 days before you expect to ovulate.
