It shouldn't matter. You should tell your doctor if you have sex. They can't tell your parents and they will be able to give you advice when it comes to birth control as well as check you for anything that can be sexually transmitted. Even if you always use protection you still want to get the tests done to be safe!

Elizabeth made a very good point. If you're having sex, tell your Dr, be safe. But no, I don't think Drs can tell if you've had sex. The only tell tell sign is if the hymen is broken but hymens can be broken by things other than sex. Strenuous sports and sometimes even tampons can cause hymens to tear.

A pelvic/ vaginal examination can be performed, typically a virgins vaginal opening is smaller and more sensitive, and a lot of time OBGYNs will use smaller tools. Someone who's been penetrated is typically more elastic, and an exam won't be uncomfortable with regular sized tools. The hymen used to be a way of telling, but girls can have a hymen torn doing a lot of things
