Glow Safety

At Glow, we take your data privacy concerns seriously

Glow understands the importance of keeping your personal and health data private. We’ve developed a thorough Privacy Policy and Cookie Notice covering what data we collect, how we use it to provide you with our services, and what practices we implement to protect it.

How You Can Protect Your Sensitive Information With Glow

Use Glow’s privacy tools and security features to safeguard your data.

Enable Offline Data Protection mode

Glow’s Offline Data Protection mode lets you store your sensitive data (e.g, period data, health logs, baby profile, etc) locally on your device. Once enabled, all your key health data will be permanently deleted from Glow’s servers.

Enjoy privacy whether you’re online or offline

Glow stores your data on encrypted databases hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS). Our apps use TLS/SSL encryption (the industry standard) to protect your data when it’s in transit from your phone to Glow’s servers or between Glow’s servers themselves.

Delete your data at any time

Whenever you want, shoot us a request to delete your personal information by emailing privacy@glowing.com. We will complete the deletion within 45 days.

Glow’s Data Privacy and Security FAQ

Is using Glow safe?

Yes, using Glow is safe. Glow employs robust security measures, including encryption, to protect your data and account. You can also enable our Offline Data Protection mode for additional security, and you have the option to delete your account and data at any time. We also regularly undergo third-party security and privacy audits to ensure our practices meet the highest industry standards.

Will Glow sell or share my data with advertisers or other third parties?

Glow has never sold user data to data brokers or advertisers. We only share minimal, anonymized information with trusted service providers when it is necessary for the app to function, and never for advertising. We explicitly prohibit sharing any health-related data (including menstrual, fertility, or sexual activity logs) with advertisers, even in aggregated form, unless you have explicitly opted in.

If I enable Offline Data Protection mode, does Glow retain any information that may be linked to me?

When you enable Offline Data Protection, Glow keeps your key health data exclusively on your device. This means Glow does not retain any health information that could be linked back to you. You still have a Glow account for app access, but sensitive reproductive and health information remains private and cannot be accessed by Glow.

How does Glow protect my data and privacy in the Glow Community?

As a Glow community member, you fully control what data (if any) you share with other members. Outside of Glow’s app, you’ll only be identified via the first two letters of your first name, rather than your full first name and profile photo. Additionally, even if you share your photos, they won’t be visible to other users unless they log in with a Glow account.

Can I download my data?

Yes, you can download your data for safekeeping. Please reach out to support@glowing.com and our team will send you a CSV file (a spreadsheet) of your data.

How do I delete my Glow account?

To delete your account, head to the More page (on iOS) or view the side bar (on Android) and click Settings. Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the “Delete Account” option. In iOS, the Delete Account button is found beneath the “Log Out” button.

Android users on the Glow Baby Tracker app can create a ticket here to request the deletion of their account.

How do I delete my personal information from Glow’s servers?

You may request that we delete your personal information by emailing privacy@glowing.com. We’ll delete it within 45 days.

What kind of customer support can I get after enabling Offline Data Protection?

After enabling Offline Data Protection mode, you will still receive all the standard support that Glow provides. You can get help with account setup, app functionality, notifications, and general questions. However, because key health data is stored exclusively on your device and not on Glow’s servers, we cannot access or recover any information that has been deleted from our servers.

What happens to my data if I uninstall the Glow apps?

Uninstalling the app doesn’t automatically delete your data. To remove your data completely, go to your settings in the Glow apps and delete your account or email privacy@glowing.com to request data deletion before uninstalling the app.
