Are you glad you had kids?

Question

My husband and I have been married for a little over 2 years and we are in our mid-late 20's. He doesn't think he will ever want children but I am on the fence and think I may in a few years. We have a nice life together, spend our money on vacations and saving for retirement and he wants to keep it that way. My question is those who have children, do you ever regret it and wish you never had children? Those who didn't have children, do you ever wish you would have? I don't want to regret it in the future if we decide not to, but also don't want to regret having children. My husband is also military so I would be on my own raising the children for usually half the year.

My baby was planned and even if he wasn't,  I would NEVER regret him. I love him more than anything. Having him was the besy thing that ever happened! The love you feel for your child is so different from anything else. If you want kids latter then I would have a talk with your SO. Even if it's a passing thought.

My daughter was a surprise, but the best one I've ever had!! I wouldn't trade her for the world!! I am very glad I had her, even if she didn't fit into our "plan" (buy a house, get married, then have kids). We moved into our own house exactly one month before I had her, and no rings yet. I'm in no hurry for it though, I'm soaking up life with my baby girl!!

I don't regret the decision to have children because now that I'm older I have more of a desire to have more children.  My daughter is the reason I get up every morning.and that feelings is rewarding

I'm preg with my first. Due in October. I can't give you any advice on regret, but I can say that I watched my mom lose her dad at 27, her mom at 34 and her husband at 42. She is an only child and all her family is gone(including husband).. If it wasn't for her 2 kids (my brother and I..) she would be living such a lonely life. When you get older and life starts slowing down.. Who's going to be around to take care of you? Esp if God forbid something happens to your SO? I think you'll regret it more If you choose not to have them. But the fact that it's even crossing your mind to have them says something ❤️

I don't regret having kids - I will say, I wish that I had waited until later in my life to start having them. I had my first when I was 27 - there was so many things that my husband and I wanted to do for ourselves before becoming parents. It's much harder when you have kids. That being said, my babies are my greatest accomplishment and I wouldn't trade being a mom for anything.

Motherhood has been the single best role in my life. Parenthood has made my husband and I love each other more and work harder for one another. Not everyone will feel the same way, but our children have fulfilled us and enriched our lives in too many ways to list.

I am pregnant with my 4th. I started younger than ideal but I dont regret any of these lil boogers. Theyre all boys so far and they drive me crazy at times but thats to be expected but they literally melt my heart every single day. They are my life! I couldnt imagine life without my kids but I always knew Id be a mom bc I love kids. Their innocence is something you cant experience in any other way other than motherhood.

I am 34 and my husband is 33.  We met at age 18.  We married at 23 (he is still the love of my life omg).  I worked full time so he could finish school (MBA)!  And he worked to get me through school! (Intervention Specialist/sped teacher).  Anyway!  While I was in school and in my early to mid 20s I didn't want any children. Period!  I wanted to achieve my Phd!  Any how, my baby fever started around age 32 and its serious!  I am now on fertility meds and I'm 34.  What I'm trying to tell you is, try to look at yourself down the road.  Not now, but later.  It's ok to conceive in your late 30s. (My mom had me at 40 😳).  I have 4 sisters and they all are blessed with sweet sweet babies!  I say it's the best reward as a woman!!! I have traveled (Paris is my favorite city) and I absolutely love teaching, but nothing compares to being a mommy.  I hope this helps!!

I dont have kids yet but wish I had sooner.  There is a huge advantage to waiting.  If I were in my mid-20's again I would save like crazy and invest like crazy and then only have kids once I had enough to know I would be okay in retirement.  Compound interest..the sooner you save a bug chunk the sooner it starts earning for you and the bigger it grows.

I do wish I had had them sooner though (maybe early 20's) cuz now they woudl be going to college and I would still be young.

No regrets yes sometimes it's hard. But being a mum is so rewarding. It's also about leaving a part of you when ur gone following on ur family line.
