Sleeping advice ???

My lil' Hannah is 5 days old. She was born at 36 weeks and weighs 5 lbs. 6 oz, she is pretty small. In the night she doesn't want to sleep in her bassinet, all she wants is to be held and to be feed. I don't know what to do, I don't want to create any bad habits. So, if anyone has some words of wisdom please share

She's too young to start bad habits. Think about it like this.. She was in your belly for nine months. Used to being held and warm in your belly. Now she's out into this big world by herself. All she knows is you. That helps me with my son. He always sleeps in me and loves being held by me. It's because I held him for nine months. It'll get better & before you know it, she'll be super independent and want to be by herself.

My baby is 4 weeks today and I've been having the same issue. My doctor told me that they don't start forming habits until they are 3 months. Right now your baby needs you to be there whenever she wants. You need to build her confidence and make her feel safe and secure. Let her be needy all she wants. I hold my baby a lot and feed her as much as she wants. She only falls asleep if I hold her. Embrace this time!

I'm in the same boat! My LO is 9 days old & hates being put down at night, she just wants to be on my chest or feeding. Wish I had some advice for us both! Good luck mama!

My little guy came at 36.5 weeks. Having a similar issue. At the hospital he was fine, but at home, he refused to sleep anywhere but on my chest- which is cool and I love that, but momma needs sleep. 
So far the things that have helped are swaddling snugly so he can't break free and keeping him warm. Preemies/late preterm babies can't regulate their body temp as well and need to be kept warm. On nights when my son doesn't sleep as well, I've noticed that it's a little chilly inside. 
Also, a full tummy helps. With My kiddos I had to supplement with formula the first couple days until my milk came in. It wasn't a lot, just after I nursed, he'd take about 10-20mL extra. 
We're 10 days out. Some nights are rough, some are easy, but overall it's getting easier. GL momma! 😊

My baby girl is 4 days old and wakes when I place her down as well. The doc says she won't form a habit because she's so small, but I'm still thinking that she will.

My 2 week old is the same way. I swaddle her and put her in her bassinet every time she falls asleep. She stays asleep only for an hour and wakes up for me to get her. When i put her in the bed with me, she can sleep for hours only waking to feed.

Do you swaddle? I breastfeed, swaddle, feed more, and rock a little so she's burped and very sleepy. Also 5 days old.

I agree! I think she's too little to form bad habits. I don't have much advice, but what really worked for my little guy to sleep was calming lotion and playing soft lullabies. We didn't need to try anything else because that worked for him! I'd put his lotion on, give him a bottle, and rock him. Kept the music playing the whole time. He'd get sleepy but I'd put him in his bassinet just before he fell asleep and then he'd just pass out. Good luck!
