Is labor near?

Went in for my 35 week check,  I'm 80% effaced 0 dialated. My Dr. doesn't want me to walk/exercise anymore for fear of triggering contractions.  Does this mean labor is near?

Seeing how your only 35 weeks and already 80% effaced he most likely just doesn't want you to progress anymore than you have! Walking and excercising does (for some women) make you dilate! Good luck! Keep that baby in as long as you can! 😄

I was 80% effected at 36 weeks, not dilated. Checked every week, and I never dilated. When to my 40 week appointment on my due date and I was in active labor (4 cm). Had my baby four hours later. Dilation and effacement can give you a good guess to if labor will start, but sometimes it doesn't really mean anything. My mother in law was completely effaced and 4 cm dilated from 40 weeks to 42 weeks with her second. She ended up having to be induced.
