Trouble getting blood taken??

Question

Any other ladies had a really hard time getting blood drawn? I've never had this issue prior to being pregnant. Now 5 different times it's taken several tries and a long time(due to really slow blood flow) to get my blood taken. They seem shocked by this and said usually it's the opposite and easier to get blood from pregnant women. Anybody else experience this!? Or know why this may be happening? Thanks for any insight!!!

Tell from my blood that I was hydrated. I just don't understand it.

I have exactly the same problem. Before getting pregnant, I never had any problems with giving blood. They usually took blood out of my arms and usually on the first attempt they were successful. However, since ive gotten pregnant, it's gone the opposite to how it should be. Everytime I have blood taken out now, they try at least three times from three different places and it is so painful. First they try my arms and then my hands. The worst thing is when they put the needle in thinking it's a good vein but then no blood comes out so they take the needle out a little/put it in deeper/ twist it. Oh God. It is horrible. They always find it weird because in pregnancy it's supposed to be more easier apparently. My veins are more visible than before but don't apparently carry a lot of blood in them. Who knows. Meh.

I've always had a hard time getting blood because I'm the worse at drinking water, since I got pregnant I've been trying real hard to be better at drinking water and when I had my blood done it was so easy, the first time that's happened! Drink lots of water!!

Drink a crazy amount of water! The more hydrated you are the easier it is to get blood from you .. I've been donating blood for years so it's a trick I picked up also a good way to pick up blood flow is to get your heart pumping running before or walking right before you head in

Drink more water, like a LOT more water  dehydration can make giving blood almost impossible.  Also have them use a butterfly needle (pediatric if possible won't hurt as much)
