ear piercing
As a professional body modification artist I beg of you to DO NOT allow anyone to use a piercing gun on your child. They are not sterile, therefore your child may be exposed to blood born diseases and multiple infections, not to mention that rather than using anything sharp it uses a dull stud to pierce accompanied by the force of the piercing gun itself which in turn creates a large tear in the epidermis rather than hole. I suggest going to a reputable establishment where your child can be made to feel comfortable with the process. Make sure they use sterile one use only disposable needles accompanied by surgical Steel captive bead rings for the jewelry as this is the least likely to cause a negative reaction. DO NOT use rubbing alcohol on the piercing as it kills the white blood cells rushing to aid in the repair of the skin. Use non-iodized course sea salt mixed with warm water, dunk the fresh piercing twice daily for 8 weeks. DO NOT touch the piercing or rotate, this is not necessary and hinders the healing process. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you ever change the jewelry for at least 8 weeks it will set back the healing process exponentially.
