Calling him daddy?!

This guy I'm seeing always wanted me to call him daddy when we are having sex. And to be honest it kinda weirds me out. Can somebody explain why this is a thing?

Lmfao. I alwayssssss said I would NEVER do it... I threw shade at so many friends for it. 
Now, I call my husband daddy. 
Here's the thing, it started when I was pregnant.. He would kiss my stomach and call himself daddy and then it caught on.. I started texting him saying "when's daddy comin home?" 
And if you think about it, it's normal for wives to tell their children "Daddys home.." 
After I lost the baby, it stuck. With or without children, we are a family and he's daddy.. The king to our castle.  Haha. To each is own.

This is so funny to me because I call my man daddy. All of my friends think I'm weird and crazy but it's so not weird to me. I've never had a father figure around so I've never called anyone Dad or daddy to begin with. For me, like a good father, my man makes me feel safe and guarded. He always has my back like a dad would so for me it doesn't have the same meaning. Anybody follow me?

There are LOTS of people who are into it. I have a friend who is. Hubby is Daddy and she's his Little Girl. I don't get it, it's way far out of my comfort zone but I respect it. Ok I try to respect it. Or I just don't ask because it makes my head spin.
