What would you like to hear?

To all the moms...I have a question that I've had a burning desire to get answered. When you give birth or even through out your child's life, what do you like to hear. He/She looks just like his/her daddy, or He/She looks just like you? I just don't know what to say when friends, cousins, siblings, etc have babies, and it seems when I tell the truth and say She looks just like her dad they get a little offended, sometimes they even get offended when I tell them that he looks just like you (mom). I can see both sides. You want the kid to look like his dad, if he is your soulmate or what have you, but you did carry them for 9 months so you want a mini me also. What's your opinion?

I don't really care who my son will look like so if I'm told he looks just like my husband , awesome. If I'm told he looks just like me..awesome !

Be politic..,, just say: it's the prettiest Baby I've ever seen. If they want to hear which parent does the Baby looks like: just say: 'I can't say - I can't do that..... I see both of you - but I'm unable to say wether it looks more like his/her mom or dad...... You never know which one of the parent wan't to be seen any similarity.... In every family there is another preferance whom the Baby 'should' be look like.... Some of them want to hear: 'O clearly grandma/grandpa..... Better be politic..... 😉

I never cared, but maybe saying "Cute, I see both of you in him/her so much!" Or "i cant tell who they look more like"
Its annoying. My SIL gets pissed when EVERYONE tells her my nephew looks like my brother. He is his mini me. Why get mad? I don't get mad when ppl say my kids look like their dad, who I cant stand lol.

I love honesty. I'd want to hear who you really thought the child looked like. My mil is a liar and notorious for telling people what she thinks they want to hear. We asked her who our son looks like and she said "he's 50/50, all the best parts of both of you equally." Later, his sister let us know mil thinks he looks like my husband. Couldn't she just say that?

My son looks like my husband shit him out, no kidding they are twins. I joke that I carried him and gave birth to him and he looks nothing like me, but damn I gave birth to a cute kid and I'll take it!

It doesn't bother me....lots of people say our lg looks like her dad....then lots of others say she looks like me. We personally think shes the perfect blend of both if us tbh. We dont think she looks more like one of us than the other

I have no idea who my daughter looks like. She looks like herself. So I'm actually quite interested in who people think she looks like. People mostly say she looks like my husband. But say she looks more and more like me the older she gets. I just like hearing that she's cute.
