What are some peoples experiences with water breaking?

Ivd thought mine broke on 3 occasions already 
-woke up feeling wet, my husband came home from work and we went to the hospital..water was not broken.  
-Yesterday ..Walking around in the grocery store and all the sudden felt damp...i didnt bother taking a trip to the hospital cuz they told me most caes you will start to have contractions within 24 hrs.  Plus i dont want to go back and them be like nope ur just wet and paranoid lol
-this morning, i woke up and of course had to pee.... as i was gettijg up i felt a little spurt.. figured most likely pee but when i got to the toilet i couldnt pee the all the sudden a gush of, i think, pee but how can i be sure? laid back down felt damp again a little while later.. Now for the past half hr ive been up making coffee folding laundry.. moving around the house and keep having dampness between my legs.  Im not feeling gushes or trickles so im not sure if im 1 leaking pee or 2 just dishcharge.

I also just went to the bathroom and the a teeeeny bit of spotting on the paperm i feel alot of pressure but not contractions

I dont know what to do!! All i keep hearing is "when ur water breaks ULL KNOW!"  but how do i know?!? Im a first time mom.. so yeah..i DONT knoww...

Mine broke as I was getting ready to go to the midwifes house. I was peeing, stood up and gushed warm water and vernix everywhere. I've never peed that much that I know of so it was obviously the amniotic fluids. Plus the vernix made it really easy to identify lol. It was super obvious. No guessing at all

Sounds like what I had with my first one. Seriously thought I lost control of my bladder! It turned out that I had an infection that basically ate a hole thru my amniotic sac, so my water WAS coming out, just in spurts...I did end up having bad cramps, so we ended up going to the ER, and I had my healthy little man that evening! Wat color should it be? Ive wiped and had yellow, most likley pee? But ive also wiped and had more clear, and spotting.  Im habing what i think are the beginnings of contractions so im gonna hang out for a few hrs and see how i feel before i call me dr or go to the hosptal.

My mom told me when she had my little brother (only reference, sorry!) she had a leak in hers and she kept going to her Ob and they continued to tell her it didn't break. She got checked and everything. This was on like a Friday or sat and then on Tuesday she went into labor and the nurse checked her and asked her when her water broke because there was like no amniotic fluid...so sometimes you gotta go with your gut! He turned out fine and is a super healthy 18 yr old lol

Mine broke when rolling over in bed. Felt a pop down there and it slowly trickled out for hours.

Mine broke during a contraction and I heard a loud pop. It was so loud I looked at my husband and asked did you hear that??? Only a small trickle of fluid came out though.

Mine was very true to movies. I was in between patients, walking around and felt a literal POP which came with a gush of light pink fluid. I hadn't been contracting at all, but it was very clear what happened.

When mine broke it was so much that it soaked my shoes. Like I jumped in the lake. So when it really breaks, you will know! Unless it is a slow leak...but otherwise yes you will definitely know

If it is continuing to come out, than it probably is you water. Mine broke in a big gush and baby had meconium in it so mine was unmistakable, but it does continue to leak out until baby is being born because your body keeps producing more. If you are unsure you can smell some too. Amniotic fluid smells a little sweet, definitely a different smell than urine.
