Going from nipple to bottle?

Question

I plan to breast feed the first 6-10 weeks once I go back to work I won't be able to pump and I'll be doing 12 hour shift so I was wondering how hard is it to make them go from Nipple to bottle or should from the beginning I just pump and put it into a bottle so he doesn't have to switch over?

I never had a single bit of trouble with my preemie and we started him on bottle only a few days after starting to BF. You can always do both and pump in addition from the beginning, and that will give you a nice freezer supply of milk too.

In my state it's illegal for them to not let you pump when you need to. They give everyone a half hour or sometimes an hour to pump & eat like a designated break time. As far as switching back and forth between a bottle, it just depends. Try out a couple different bottles similar to your own nipple.

Not every state is the same. And I do in home health care so I can exactly as a dementia person I'm caring for to not walk out of the house and run off while I'm pumping so like I said I'm asking about switching not what you think the laws are. Thank you.

I think it just depends on the baby. My son was super easy and had no issues going back and forth. Then a friend of mine, her son hated bottles and would rather just nurse or not eat at all if a bottle was given to him....good luck!!!

Following, wondering the same thing. I will have to go back after 6 weeks and work 24 hr shifts. I will continue to try and pump (if everything goes as planned) but I'm sure we will have to introduce formula too because of her having a split home :/

No it shouldn't be a problem. I mean baby no doubt won't be happy about it but will soon be ok with it

My son is likes the playtex bottles or the dr browns(hassle to clean) . He was in NICU , supplement fed before I could try breast luckily he took. I pumped in the hospital as well and switched off back and forth , and continued at home so my fiancé can bond with him as well. It's very frustrating, but it's worth it to switch off in my own opinion .

I'm a trauma ICU nurse, there are 6 women on my unit right now that pump every 3-4 hours. It's illegal here to not allow them to. And they still get normal breaks.
