Testosterone replacement killing sperm?

DH has been on Androgel for about 18mos now due to low T. I've researched and many couples agree Androgel or testosterone replacement therapy can hinder chances of pregnancy. I asked DH to inquire with his PCP; PCP told him "nothing to worry about". Has anyone been in this boat and opinions?? (DH will be getting an SA done very soon; I have 1 child he has 0)

PCP's are not specialist in the fertility field. Unfortunaly we had this issue, his dr put him on testosterone injections and our fertility dr threw a fit, took him off it and put him on clomid to help increase his testoserone and sperm count.

Testosterone will spot your hubby from producing any sperm. My husbands doctor prescribed it, but I did my research and it will actually make your husband stop producing. Be an advocate for yourself!

my husband goes to a mens health clinic and they give him hcg injections because we are trying to conceive, most testosterone replacement will kill sperm.

We are currently having to see fertility specialist for same reason because DH was on testosterone injections. He has had to come off the injections because they lowered his count so much. They put him on hcg to boost count. we will recheck it this week. hoping for an increased count!

In the exact same boat. Haven't done analysis yet. I spoke to my gyno and he said treatment can affect speem, but he didn't want to comment for sure since it was in contrast to SO doc. He said only a urologist can comment for sure. SA is next. We took a home version and it was negative for the 10 mil count and I read somewhere it can take up to 6 months to get sperm back after stopping treatment.
