Anyone in the same boat??

Kasha
I've read a lot research and talked to a couple different doctors, but still haven't found anything that really fits my situation. Wondering if anyone has had the same or similar experience...
After TTC for 6 months, my husband and I decided to try Preseed (not saying it had anything to do with my issues, but part of our journey) and that month we got our BFP. I suffered from a miscarriage 5 years ago, so being slightly apprehensive, when I started having pink/brown spotting at about 5.5 weeks (no cramps) I asked the dr to check my beta HCG levels. Everything seemed to be moving along normally (numbers doubling), and the spotting stopped after about 4 days. A few days passed, and in the morning of the 21st I went to use the bathroom and had bright red spotting on the tp, not a lot and it wasn't present after the first wipe. I went straight to my doctor anyways, and asked for an ultrasound. As she was measuring my uterus and then moving the wand around to my tubes and ovaries to measure, I flinched as she passed my left side, and simultaneously we saw my baby, in my left tube, with a very strong heartbeat, measuring 6.5 weeks. I got dressed and waited for the dr... She never came in. A nurse finally did, and told me it was ectopic and to go home, talk with my husband and the dr would call me soon to schedule for surgery. Heartbroken, I called my husband on my way home, as well as my parents, who had not yet known we were pregnant. Shortly after getting home the doctor called, told me that for my case, surgery was the only option, since my HCG was at 3800 (3/17) and the baby had a strong heartbeat, Methotraxate would more than likely not work. That afternoon I was admitted to the hospital. As far as I knew surgery went well, and she was able to save my tube. The Thursday after surgery (3/24) my HCG had fallen to 900 and a week later (3/31) it only dropped to 700. The dr said she would ideally like these numbers to be lower and wanted me to get them checked Monday (4/4) and if they were not dramatically lower, we would look to do the Methotraxate shot. I had not heard of anyone needing this after surgery but she didn't seem concerned with that, and after seeing posts about the shot being similar to low dose chemo, I was extremely hesitant. I debated with myself whether or not I would do it, if my numbers were falling, perhaps I would just let them fall naturally. Well Monday (4/4) came around and my HCG had jumped up to 1100, the decision had seemed to be made for me. At this point I was scheduled with a different dr, my surgeon is on vacation, I told her my concerns and she explained everything very well, so we both decided I would check my HCG again and if they were up, I would get the shot, but if by chance they are going down on their own, we could ride it out. Low and behold they went up to 1300. I went in that afternoon and had two shots on either side of my rear.
It has been two days, no adverse side effects as of yet, just some slight cramping and gas like pains, and I started to have light spotting yesterday afternoon. I am suppose to have blood drawn tomorrow (Saturday) and then follow up with my dr Tuesday. At which point we will know whether it is working, or if not I'll need another shot... OR surgery to remove my tube.
If you've made it through this post, thank you! If you have, or have heard of anyone having the shot done after surgery, with success, or anyone that's ended up needing their tube removed after all, I just need something. I am grateful that I haven't had any real physical pain throughout this whole situation, except the pain from the CO2 with the surgery recovery (AWFUL) and of course the heartache of losing my healthy baby, which still makes me cry every day. I just need some reassurance I guess, if that's even possible.
