My story...it's long

Just wanted to share my birth story. It was not what I expected, but so much better! My OB had told me from the start of my pregnancy that c-section was the best option for twins. She told me the reasons why and I decided to trust her because she is my dr and I wanted what was best for my babies and also it was my first pregnancy. I had a scheduled c-section for 38 weeks. On my appointment for week 35 she tells me she will be on vacation next week so "don't have your babies!" Of course that's exactly when my twins thought it was time. My water broke at 36+2 and I almost had a nervous breakdown bc my dr was out of town. I decided to go to a different hospital where I knew a couple of nurses and I figured it didn't matter since my dr wasn't gonna be there. Turns out both babies are head down and they advise me to deliver vaginally. I immediately say no bc I was terrified of a vaginal delivery. My dr had told me it was dangerous and it would end up in a c section anyway so I said no. I had watched tons of YouTube videos on c sections and I was ready. Nurses and dr's were so shocked that I wanted a c section and couldn't believe my dr wasn't even gonna let me try vaginally. After a lot of convincing I decided to try vaginally. IT WAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! I got to hospital at 7am and they were born at 3:46pm and 3:49pm. They were here within 20 mins of pushing. 6lbs6oz and 5lbs6oz. No NICU time, they were perfect. I was so involved in the birth and got to help pull my babies out. This would have never happened if I had a c section. I know not everyone has the choice, but if you can I definitely recommend a vaginal birth. Don't let your dr take that from you like it almost happened to me! I almost had a completely unnecessary surgery. I totally understand that many twin moms have to have a c section, but if you have a choice, my opinion is to try vaginally.
