Announcing 1st gc to rude Inlaws
Looking for advice or your experiences:
My inlaws are the worst. MIL always tries to cause fights between us and FIL just follows along (DH and I have been together over 12 years). DH sees through her crazy and we are on the same page. They live close, drive by our house and never stop (which can be good!). The one thing I haven't brought up to DH is how he wants to tell his parents that we are expecting.
Due to our history, I don't want the baby to be the excuse why they start treating us better or want to be involved (which I know will more than likely be inevitable).
Any thoughts or suggestions I can bring to the table when I talk to him would be greatly appreciated. I still try to be supportive that they are his parents but it's very difficult.
