Doctors don't like it when you question them
Do any of you notice your docs or midwives making faces when you learn certain things that may be an issue during pregnancy?
I learned more about Tylenol and how it is linked to causing asthma and such. And green tea also is an anti folic acid. They just looked annoyed when I asked them about it. The midwife said "well next they will say that air is bad for you. You to be able to take something for your headaches." So basically I got the just shut up and take Tylenol vibe.
UPDATE
So glad to hear from all of you. Personally I think doctors and midwives need to bite the bullet and embrace the mothers to be's thirst for knowledge. We remember everything about our pregnancy. Especially our time in the docs office. It is a special time so they should enhance that time for all of you when they are seeing you.
Ladies ask your questions and share your concerns. If you didn't, I would worry. Trusting your doc doesn't mean throw away the key to your own thoughts and concerns. No! If your doc can handle you with care and respect that you're the momma that wants nothing but the best for your little one(s) while still guiding you and healing you than you got a keeper. If they are annoyed and roll their eyes at you and make you feel like you should have just gone to google because out there seems a lot warmer than in that room then you need to look for another doc.
Whatever findings you have. Regardless if you feel uncomfortable to take or do something then don't do it. I've dropped Tylenol because there is enough in this world to contribute to my baby's chance of getting this and that. Why risk it? Is my attitude. As for my delicious tropical green tea that is an anti-folic acid? Well I guess my tea will have to wait. I hope you all have a happy experience with your docs and have a healthy pregnancy and baby. ❤️R
