Toothache :( what is ok @ the dentist?

Question

So ladies I have a bad toothache, so bad it woke me up in the middle of the night. I'm 18 weeks along now, and just nervous about going to the dentist. I got this after chewing gum and the tooth is one that has a filling in it, hope I just dislodged the filling and it's not a root canal or infection :/ any experience being pregnant and having to go to the dentist? I don't want to harm my baby... Also hope I don't throw up in the dentists chair when they put all that stuff in my mouth :(

You should be okay! I had to get an emergency root canal I was in so much pain I was about to cry! I got the ok from my OBGYN and they sent the dentist over an approval and medicine they can and can not use. Also dentist know what to do and are extra careful. I had two shields over me when they did an X-ray and numbed me but not with what they use on ladies who are not Preggooo. But I'm GLAD I got the work done omg I don't think I would of been able to survive. Taking care of our teeth is very important 😌 good luck Hun

I went to my dentist for a cleaning in my first trimester, and just refused the X-rays. I went 2 weeks ago (32weeks pregnant) for a filling and got local anaesthetic for it. Here is a link with a bit of info that might help.

Usually from whAt I've read an been told once you're in your second trimester it's best to get your teeth worked on! I have to go get two permanent crowns put on an tlas long as you make sure every person working on you knows exactly how far along you are they will know what they can an can not do! They say if possible anything that can wait until after the baby is born you should but if not they do have special things to take place for the emergency. Cleanings, fillings an I believe getting a tooth pulled are all okay! I asked when they dis my teeth xrays that I was double padded!

I was eating a bagel the other day and my tooth broke at the gums and I had to get emergency surgery 😧.  They did give me an xray but covered my belly with 2 of those shield things and only had novicane as they had to cut into my gums to remove it. I was PETRIFIED! But it didn't hurt lol but my doctor did give a clearance due to it being an emergency. Call your doctor  :)
