What would you do?

Ladies! Opinions please :) My husband and I just moved to a new city and were planning to have a gender reveal party in May. In our minds, it was the perfect excuse to celebrate with both sides of or families and our closest friends since everyone loves states and hours away. So we just wanted to make it a fun party, cookout, cornhole, some drinks, great food... You get the gist! So I have been so excited! People have booked their hotels and flights and everything... We have wonderful friends and family! So now that it's getting close to us actually finding out  (we were going to open the envelope next weekend) just so the two of us know together for a few days before. Anyway, the closer this time comes - the more my husband and I are both okay with waiting. Like, we are both up for letting it be a total surprise until the baby is born! Now obviously this is not good timing considering travel plans for family - so what do you think? Just say screw it and have the party as we originally intended. Or give everyone a heads up and still throw a party or get together, just not make it about the baby. Thoughts?
