Late initial appt?

So husband and I have been TTC for about 5 months. Finally got a positive test on Sunday!!! We are so excited! I called the dr to schedule an appt but they scheduled 2.5 weeks out, which I'm guessing will put me at 7-8 weeks.  They advised there would be an ultrasound at the first appt. Is it weird that they don't have me come in before to confirm the pregnancy? I took like 5 tests lol but I want someone to tell me!

My doctor said home tests are so reliable now, if you've gotten multiple positives at home there's really no need for them to confirm. They scheduled me for my first appt 7-8 weeks too the first time I was pregnant.

Usually they won't have you come in for bloodwork to confirm unless you've suffered a loss.  I am 6 weeks this time around and I found out a little over a week ago and have been for 3 blood draws already, first scan is next week though and I will be 7 weeks. Xx

This is my second pregnancy (first one ended in miscarriage) and both times the doctor didn't want to see me for my first appointment until I was 10 weeks. It is so incredibly long to wait especially since we only made it to 8 weeks before the miscarriage last time. I just can't wait to hear that little heart beat!!

I called and they just scheduled my appointment, they didn't ask me to come in for blood work or anything to confirm. My appointment isn't for another 4 weeks or so

Most offices just take your word.  At least you don't have to wait too long for your first appointment 😊

Same here! I called for an appointment today and they said the doctor usually doesn't see us until around 8 weeks since there's more to see then. they did offer for me to come in to confirm the pregnancy if I wanted too.

Same thing! It's my first pregnancy and my first ultrasound and appointment are schedule at estimated 8 weeks. It does feel like such a long wait! Excited for it to get here, can't wait to hear that little heart beat.

I just called to make my first appointment too, and it's not for another 4 weeks. I'll be 8 weeks and a few days along, so I know how you feel! It's driving me crazy waiting. Congratulations btw!
