Should terminally ill children be allowed to choose an assisted suicide?

If a child is diagnosed with a terminal illness that has no cure, should they have the right to choose their death? What kind of restrictions should be in place?

Depends on how bad they're hurting. But I don't think it's realistic. Most kids will translate it as "It'll stop hurting" instead of "I'm going to cease to exist."

I think teenagers are capable of fully understanding death and what euthanasia would mean.
I support them having the right to choose to die with dignity.

With younger children it becomes a murkier subject. 
I would tentatively support a combined decision by the parents and hospital staff (doctors and nurses), after looking over the evidence and speaking with counselors, to euthanize a terminally ill child.

I believe all living beings, regardless of age, deserve the right to die with dignity. 
On the other hand how do we go about euthanizing a child?
It's not often I struggle to form a solid opinion on something.
This is definitely a question I will have to further consider.

I'm not entirely opposed to this idea for adults, but kids.... I don't think they really have the reasoning capability to make decisions like that. Idk. Hard question.

Yes. Everyone has the right to die with dignity.

I met one child at my job who had stage 4 cancer (forget the type) and he was the strongest person next to my grandma I have met.

He asked me what it was like to work because he knew he wouldn't live to see my age.

Are they in pain? If they can't live a normal lofe because they're constantly in pain then yes I think they should be able to choose it. If they aren't in pain and can love a normal albeit shorter life, then I think Doctors and the parents should convince them not to so they can still experience life and then "go" naturally.

I think if the child is suffering that badly then the parents and MDT should come to a decision together considering their qualify of life. If it's a teenager who is terminally ill then they should be able to chose.

I say maybe. I think if they are in pain that cannot be controlled. I am all for euthanasia and quality of life. I think if the child can be made comfortable then they should enjoy as much of what little life they have left. Kids seem to be quite resilient and I think only pain would make them want to leave sooner than later. I wouldn't be able to watch my child in pain, though I couldn't really say unless I was in the position.

Maybe like 16 and above? And just to where they're like put into a coma maybe and they just peacefully go. Idk that's a hard question that varies for every case
