My boyfriend is a very untraditional guy and has come to the conclusion that the only way he will marry me is if I propose , but I've always dreamed of a guy giving me a beautiful proposal .... And I'm scared to propose to a guy , it feels like I'm rushing marriage. I'm lost on what to do !!

I would be really upset if my husband expected me to propose.  I'm traditional and I believe the man should propose.  If I were you, I would tell him how I felt.  It's really unfair that he is taking that away from you, most women dream of a beautiful proposal, so taking that away is really unacceptable imo.

Not to be rude but that is crazy! No its nothing wrong with a girl proposing but then again the traditional way is for a men to do it. Every women deserve that special moment and any men should wanna give that to the women he loves. I don't think you should have to ask.

My husband is kind of shy and I thought that I would have to be the one to propose. He brought it up one day and we just came to the understanding that we knew we were getting married and it didn't matter who proposed. If I had to I would have gotten down on one knee and proposed. But that's just me.

Let's focus on the bigger picture here ladies. Forget "traditions" for a second for they are things society has set in place for the majority to desire. A proposal is an agreement between two people who are in love with each other. Do you two want to commit to each other for the rest of your lives? If that's the case, then what does it matter who asks who? What matters is you are both making a life long commitment to each other. I asked my husband whom I was previously best friends with for 9 years, he said yes and we were married in a week. It's about love, that's the feeling you should have. Not the false feelings of gratification that going along with traditions brings because it's what society has told you how things are meant to be. That doesn't justify your love for one another.
