When is it okay to try again?

I just recently suffered a missed miscarriage and had it induced with misoprostol on 4/20/16. I know that I am barely out of the recuperating and healing stage. But I feel that the only thing that's keeping me going is the hope and possibility of soon carrying a baby to full term. 
My doctor said to wait 2 cycles, while I've heard others try after 1 or even immediately after their miscarriage. Is there any doctors on here hat could explain why the difference in waiting? Any of you ladies waited too little or too long and had a second miscarriage? Any of you tried right away and had a healthy rainbow baby? 
Please shed some light for me and my thoughts are all day all consuming.

I would listen to your doctor. After mine I waited the 2-3 cycles after and I felt so much better about my current pregnancy emotionally and physically. I had a D&C and you have to wait a couple weeks to even have sex and when you do it can be an emotional roller coaster. Also if you wait a few cycles it cleans everything out down there. What helped me during the waiting period was working out like crazy. I wish you the best for your rainbow baby! Just make sure you are emotionally ready :)

I had a d&c miscarriage on November 4th and conceived again (naturally, after 3 years of fertility treatments!) in December. Baby is 20 weeks today, and perfectly strong and healthy. Thinking of you during this time of heartache. 🙏🏻❤️

I miscarried on July 31st last year, stopped bleeding on August 5th. I never had another cycle, tested positive again on September 1st. I'm currently 36+6! & all has went well with this pregnancy besides having hyperemesis. I'm sorry to hear about your loss.. It's one of the worst things anybody could go through..  Don't start trying again unless you feel you are ready, I know how hard the conflicting emotions are. & good luck for when you decide you are ready!

I wasn't "trying" after my miscarriage... it happened Nov 7th, I then experienced extremely large black clots (no bleeding) December 5th which I was told was the rest of it coming out.... then on new year's day I had a positive test! So, my pregnancy is based on Dec 5th being my LMP, but I never actually had a real cycle after the miscarriage. I am 20 weeks today, considered low risk, haven't had any problems. So so sorry for this pain you have to go through sweetie, it's unbelievably hard! I'd like to encourage you to take your time when you try again, make sure you focus on processing and healing from this heartbreak. I wish I'd had a little more time, as it's still very recent and a struggle. Take care! ♡♡♡

The waiting is not only for physical healing, but for emotional healing time as well. Having at least one cycle will help to accurately date a new pregnancy. And deepening how far along you were it may take some time to get your hcg down to 0.
