People getting angry with each other

So i've legit lost 3 friends in the last week because they don't agree with my opinion on the whole transgenders being able to use whichever bathroom they want. I think it's great that they can and I don't think it will be an issue. My friends are christians (as am I) and have stopped communicating with me because they disagree with it. Am I wrong here? Why cant people have different opinions?
