Midwife or Reg Doctor??... Epidural or Waterbirth??...

Question

Was thinking about getting a midwife and doing a waterbirth... Cause I really don't want to go to the hospital... And would rather have a female doctor... What's everyone's intake on this... What would you prefer over the other... Need some pros and cons...

For me the best choice is a midwife. She delivers at a hospital so if worst case scenario happens I will already be at a hospital and that eases my mind a little bit. I suggest watching "Business of Being Born" it's on Netflix. 
But to each their own. I will never shame a mom for how they choose to childbirth. I know I have a very high pain tolerance and I'm stubborn so all natural is for me.

I have a midwife (since I'm low risk) who supports natural birth but only in a hospital setting. My insurance won't cover home births (sadly!) but she said I'm allowed to labor in a water tub there if I want!
Depending on where you're at in your stage of labor, you can usually opt for an epidural if you change your mind!

I had a regular doctor for both pregnancies but I've heard great things about midwives. However I think I was lucky and I loved ALL of my nurses... Always kind, encouraging, helpful, and they never tried to push anything on me I didn't want... They had the sweetness and encouragement and supportiveness (is that a word?) of a midwife IMO, at least in my own experience. I've had an epidural birth and I've had a "basically" med-free birth. The recovery afterward was 50% better with my non-epidural birth. But also the labor time was half what it was with the epidural birth, so I wasn't struggling as long my second time. But also with the epidural birth they had to break my water in the hospital after laboring several hours already, whereas with my second, my water broke first, literally like the movies with that one lol. The pain was really tough without the epidural (and I almost asked for it so many times... But I just wanted to test my strength and see if I could do it, just kept telling myself to try and make it a little bit longer...) but the urge to push was insane and I literally got her out in like 3 pushes, as opposed to the exhausting 2 hours with my first. My body was doing all the work that second time, I couldn't hold back the urge to push. With the epidural it can be hard to push correctly because the urge to push is dulled down quite a bit. Sorry for such a long reply but... Idk I always get excited about babies and pregnancy and labor, lolz. 😆
