Might be pregnant

I think I may be pregnant but I have these cramps that are like the same cramps I get when I'm about to start my period but I've been having them for a week now and usually when I get my period cramps my period starts the same or next day but my period still hasn't came ! Did any of you lady's have your period cramps and thought you were gonna start your period but never did and found out you were pregnant ? (Please no rude comments) Ik I should take a pregnancy test and I will be taking one next week
