Anyone else having a military baby?

My boyfriend is in the Navy; and is based in Virginia. His family and mine are living in New York. Once every month or two, if he has a weekend off he'll come home for it which is great. Although he'll only get home Friday from 12am-4am, then needs to go home Sunday by 5pm the latest. It's a 7-8 hour drive. Anyways, he'll be going underway from May to July, 3 months of no contact. I'm praying he'll be able to be here for the babies birth in November; after the baby is born he'll be going underway in February  for 9 months of no contact.. It's going to be tough. but since we're not married he won't get that free leave to come own for the birth. He's planning on using his own leave that he's been saving up however. Is anyone else out there having a baby with someone in the military ? I've love to make some friends/ get to know each other (: it's gets lonely and stressful:/

He should be able to take leave unless they are getting ready for deployment or underways. If he's on a carrier it's easier to get off than a sub. Be careful with your dates though. Opsec is huge in the military. My husband had a friend get into huge trouble with his command because his wife posted dates on when they were leaving . Gotta keep our sailors safe :)

My husbands in the Navy and this is both of ours first child. He's an active reservist and is thinking about the ships but I asked him to wait till the baby is at least 3 or 4. I was against the ship but he really wants to go so we compromised.

I'm an army wife and pregnant with his first/my second. He doesn't deploy much with his mos but he leaves for different schools and such. Just hang in there and keep positive and busy 💛

I've been there and still am. My husband is Navy too. He's on a destroyer ship (USS Roosevelt DDG80). He wasn't able to be there for the birth for our first born son. At that time he was on a submarine. He didn't see our son until he was 3 months old but I took tons of pictures and videos. He was there for the birth of our second son who I had in Ohio due to him going to school for training in Illinois (Navy related school). He'll be here for the birth of our daughter. Due in July and who knows maybe she'll come earlier than that. His Navy contract is up in September and from now until then, it's lots of job interviews in Ohio (Home).

Marine mommy here! We are in Cali and my husband is non-deployable right now for the 3 years we are here (2 more left). That's why we planned this baby now before he has to go back to the fleet (he's infantry). He is a mountain warfare trainer now and his schedule is insane and I don't see him for a week here and there constantly so I'm kind of feeling your struggle! Is he set to be home when you are due?

Marine wife in CA from TX🙋🏽 2 years in and he's considering reenlisting 😅 
this is our first baby. He's infantry and he's currently on stand by so he can leave for a deployment at any moment😩 and that also means they train up in the mountains days at a time, very often. 🙄 so nights where he isn't home, I'm usually watching Netflix, eating Chinese takeout, scrolling through this app 😂

Can you get married so he can be around for the birth? My hubby is a merchant marine and I can relate to you ladies. He was at sea for 14 months at a time before we were married. Lately I've been very lucky to see him monthly.
