Pacifier.. who is using.. who isn't... why!?

i am totally on the fence with this. What are your thoughts ladies? My husband keeps asking that we use one... I never did it for my oldest but it was he didnt care for it. My little one is exclusivly  breastfed and i have read it can hurt the breastfeeding realtionship. mmm what are u all doing? I have also read that infants need to suck and the pacifier will help with the soothing effect.
