Family that smokes?

Unfortunately, my husband and I have a significant amount of family members that smoke cigarettes... The smell of it alone makes me nauseous I can only imagine how a little newborn would feel. Any suggestions on dealing with this? & Not hurting the family members feelings?  I just envision our families coming to see the little guy in the hospital and the room wreaking of smoke as soon as they all walk in. Sigh. Just another thing to worry about....

I told my fam they will be washing their hands and will cover with a blanket before holding our baby. They don't like it, but I don't care. My baby, my choice.

Find an article about 3rd hand smoke and post it for your family to see on facebook. Then say that you are requesting that people call before coming to visit you and when they do ask that they either A. Bring a clean shirt with them to change into before holding baby, B. Refrane from smoking at least 20 min before coming to visit baby, or C. Don't come.

I would politely ask them to stop smoking in the house and to wash their hands before handling the baby and also to cover themselves with a blanket before holding baby...I am a smoker myself and will be doing all the above before handling my own baby...if they have any kind of respect for you and your baby then they won't have a problem doing any of these things

I'm in the same position. Don't know what to say. I'm fed up of living in this house where there is smoke everywhere and don't want my baby to be surrounded in it but nothing I can do.
